A native of Denver, Bob Winsett came to the mountains in 1972 when he enrolled in Colorado Mountain College in Leadville. He originally intended to go to the Glenwood Springs campus to study photography but, at the last moment, a friend talked him into going to Leadville where he studied Ski Area Technology.

After 13 years in the ski business including nine years as a ski patrolman at Copper Mountain, Bob decided it was time to revisit his love of photography and see if he could make a living at it. Local photographer, Jeff Andrew, took Bob under his wing and taught him every aspect of the photography business.

Over the last 20 years Bob has worked on campaigns for Vail Resorts, the Ford Motor Company and many other clients. His photography has been used by clients ranging from textbooks to national ad campaigns. While Bob’s early commercial photography was mostly geared to sports and lifestyle photography, Bob has expanded his horizons to include architectural photography thanks in part to his ongoing relationship with Slifer Smith and Frampton Real Estate.
